The fall fund raising drive to establish the very first Garber High School Endowment Fund has been completed with great success.

The goal of $10,000 has been met.  Over a hundred friends and alumni of Garber High School generously donated for the baseline fund. The Communities Foundation of Oklahoma has matched this amount with $5,000 raising the balance to $15,000.  Proceeds from the fund will be used for scholarships to deserving Garber graduates and needed improvements at Garber Schools. 

“I am so proud that our school community has stepped up and made our first fund raising drive such a great success.  We thank them all so very much”, said Carobelle Carson, Secretary of the Garber Alumni Association. 

The Garber Alumni Fund was established in early May, 2009, and the fund raising drive began on October first.  The fund and the fund raising were completed under the direction of a committee established by the Garber Alumni at their November, 2008 meeting.  Members of the Garber Alumni Endowment Committee are Doug Benkendorf ‘56, Carobelle Carson ‘55, Carolyn (Herbert) Christie ‘64,  James Hankins’86, Martin Herth ‘63, Debbi (Sebranek) Kuykendall ‘77 and Ted Metscher ‘56. 

Martin Herth stated that, “The committee worked hard to establish this fund and plan the fund raising effort.  The response is simply fantastic.  We look forward to next year’s drive in the run-up to our Alumni meeting in the fall of 2010.”
