Total of Alumni Funds Updated January, 2012

The Garber Alumni Association has established four funds for our school. The first was the Garber Alumni Fund, founded in 2009 that raised over $10,000 with a $5000 match from the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma. In 2010, the alumni established two more funds. The GHS Championship Fund recognizes the achievements of the student body regarding scholarship, music, agriculture and sports. The Breckinridge Fund for GHS was established to honor residents of the Breckinridge community for their contributions to Garber Schools and to foster post-graduate study of rural development.

In 2011, the Merl Huntsinger Fund was established. Mr. Huntsinger is a member of the Class of 1935 and decided to donate part of his estate to this fund.  Our Foundation matched his donation giving the Fund a total of $25,000.

Donations, including the matching funds from our Foundation, Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, totaled $42,210 in 2011. The donations came in mostly small contributions from over 150 dedicated alumni. The response was overwhelming. With the help of some matching funds from the Communitites Foundation of Oklahoma, the three funds now total $98,876 as of January, 2012. Visit the alumni page for more information about this extraordinary endeavor and to learn how you can donate online or by mail.

The mission of Garber Public Schools is to prepare all students so that they develop the knowledge and skills to achieve success and become active citizens who contribute to their community.
